THE WHEATLEY CYBERCATS
The Official Website of Team 2872
TEAM HISTORY
The Wheatley Cybercats was founded by Joseph Fina in 2009, they were the 2,782nd registered team in the world at the time. This team was originally designed to fulfill a senior seminar class, however over the years this model has changed, allowing for continuity amongst students from 9th-12th grade, creating a more sustainable system. This gives students a better opportunity to learn all of the necessary skills, and concepts needed to create continuity.

FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION
What is it?
“Combining the excitement of sport with the rigors of science and technology. We call FIRST Robotics Competition the ultimate sport for the mind. High-school participants call it “the hardest fun you’ll ever have.”
Under strict rules, limited resources, and an intense lime limit, teams of students are challenged to raise funds, design a team ‘brand,’ hone teamwork skills, and build and program industrial-size robots to play a difficult field game against like-minded competitors. It’s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Volunteer professional mentors lend their time and talents to guide each team. Each season ends with an exciting FIRST Championship.” - FIRST
